The Humble Home is a piece centered around memory and nostalgia. Inspired by the writings of bell hooks, Annette Kuhn, and the imagery by Laurie Simmons, I have created a piece to analyze the memories from my past. I created a book of stories designed after those I read as a child and have photographed the figures from my childhood dollhouse. The dollhouse not only is a stage connected to my childhood, but also a metaphor for the games I experienced through the challenges of financial struggle and an ever changing family.
